Platinum jewelry is an excellent choice for a lifetime of everyday wear. While platinum is very strong and durable, your platinum jewelry must be maintained and stored properly to ensure its fine appearance. Here are some tips on how to keep your platinum jewelry in perfect condition:

• Organize your jewelry items separately, in a jewelry box or soft bag so they don't get scratched by your other jewelry.

• Clean your platinum jewelry periodically in the same way you clean other fine jewelry--using jewelry cleaner or by soaking it in a mild solution of soap and warm water then gently rubbing it with a soft cloth. This will help ensure its fine appearance and will help it last.

• Have your platinum jewelry professionally cleaned once in a while. For platinum jewelry set with diamonds or gemstones, be sure to do this every six months.

• Be aware that over time, platinum develops a natural patina that is a result of daily wear that many people prefer over the polished finish. The patina looks like a soft, satin finish and is merely a displacement of the metal--none of the volume is lost. If you prefer the polished appearance, we can polish your ring back to its high shine look.

• Do not leave your jewelry on when doing house cleaning, gardening and other types of heavy work or manual labor. While platinum is very strong and durable, it’s best to remove your jewelry to avoid any possible damage to the platinum and any diamonds or gemstones.

• Do not handle bleach or harsh chemicals when wearing platinum. Although they will not hurt the platinum, chemicals may affect the diamonds or gemstones.
